YOUTH PROGRAMS

Junior Appalachian Musicians
After-school program students at Stecoah Valley Center are also offered the opportunity to participate in the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program. JAM students learn to play the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar or upright bass, using instruments provided by the Center. All lessons are free of charge.

JAM students often perform at local festivals and events as well as at the end-of-year recital and open house. This important program offers the students a chance to reclaim and help preserve the music of their heritage.

K-8 Afterschool Program
Graham County School students K-8 now have an after school program. The children get a healthy snack and have academic, music/arts/crafts and recreation opportunities. The cost is $100 per month unless a qualifying student of a Title One school.

The Stecoah Valley Center is classified as an IRC Sec. 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit corporation and all gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Click here for information on how you can contribute to the preservation of the Stecoah Valley Center.
